A
bby Monroe has no job, and her boyfriend has left her. Heartbroken, she wants to start a new life. Very determined to matter in this world, she takes a job with the UN in Peshawar, Pakistan. She also wants to put a grisly scene of murder behind her. Abby witnessed a woman being thrown from a building in Geneva. She is haunted by nightmares and the memory of a beautiful bracelet that adorned the victim's wrist.
H
er eyes are opened when she finds out about human trafficking, after going to a local women's shelter. Abby begins to document the horrific stories of those who survived and escaped. Abby herself is to be interviewed by a reporter from the New York Times. She learns that this is a front for the real story Nick is after. They team up, hoping to find evidence to stop some of the human trafficking. Strangely, the bracelet reappears as they build evidence connecting some very powerful men to the sex slavery.
I
t shocks me that there is such evil in the world. This tale wrenches the heart, but in the midst of all the tragedy, the author shows that there is still beauty alongside all the ugliness.
The Bracelet
is a book that I will never forget and did not put down.
