n this fourth in the
Miss Dimple
series by Mignon F Ballard, Miss Dimple Kilpatrick aids in the search for a missing child. She finds Peggy Ashcroft in the woods. Peggy is too sick to walk and Dimple is lost. The two finally reach the home of an elderly artist, Mae Martha, and her companion Suzy.
T
o Miss Dimple's horror, Mae Martha is murdered. Suzy is afraid she will be arrested because she is Japanese and all this occurs during World War II. Dimple is determined to prove Suzy innocent and sets about to do just that. Mae Martha's two nephews and their wives are tangled into the mystery and don't know Dimple's reputation for getting to the heart of the matter.
A
long with the thrill of the mystery is the warm feeling one gets while reading of the small town atmosphere and reminiscences of the forties. I am old enough to remember how bottles of milk were delivered to your door with the frozen cream at the neck pushed in a small golden pillar into the air.
Miss Dimple Suspects
is a delightful new addition to a popular series.
