ulia Romp began her extraordinary life as a single mother with a young child who seemed a bit different. Everyone (including doctors) told her that her son would grow out of it. It took ten years until someone actually diagnosed that George had Autism, and Julia had an answer.

ut life did not get any easier with a name to George's condition. He never learned how to express himself and remained in a world foreign to Julia. She never stopped trying to reach her son; she tried it all. But one day they found a cat in the garden shed and life changed. After taking the sick cat to the vet, Julia thought that was it. But when she took George to visit the cat, something happened - the best thing in a very long time.
G
eorge started to talk to the cat and it responded. Ben (the cat) lived with George and Julia for three years and life was wonderful - George bloomed and came out of his shell. Then Ben disappeared, George started to regress, and life turned sad again. Julia searched for Ben for weeks and months, never giving up hope. On December 21st, a couple called to say they had found a cat that matched Ben's description - they lived fifty miles away.
I
loved this story, which touches the heart in every way possible. It gives insights into the world of autism and tells us about a unique feline that opens a world for a little boy and fills a family with love. The book itself is very well written and once started it is very hard to put down.
The Cat Who Came Back For Christmas
is uplifting.
