amys Durand has been in love with mortal Chris Lang from the moment they met three years before. But he realises that he has no future to offer her: he has no territory of his own and never will unless he can prove to his father and the other Darkyn lords that he is a warrior in his own right and not forever the

son of his powerful father.

hen Jamys learns of the existence of a priceless Templar treasure, he vows to find it and thus win Chris's heart - and his own territory. But she also has her sights set on acquiring the jewels. To locate them would prove to Sir Richard, the king of the Darkyn world, that she has studied hard to become a
tresora
, the right hand of a Darkyn lord. She hopes that her lord will be Jamys Durand, whom she also secretly loves.

iehl doesn't offer too much in the way of mythology expansion in this latest instalment other than the introduction of the Templar treasure. Leads Jamys and Chris aren't really inspiring characters either; I found their back story and romance unoriginal - and also overshadowed by previous characters Lucan and Samantha, who had much more to lose in this particular plotline than Jamys and Chris.
V
iehl never fails to disappoint though; her Darkyn world is fascinating and anything she creates for it is a must read for me.
