S
ydney Simone believes that those who have been wronged should have a chance for retribution. If orthodox means don't work, then she will verify her client's story, collect payment and go to work by unorthodox means. Meaning highly illegal. For earning legal tender, she works as an assistant for a Gallery in West Palm Beach run by her boss Oscar Leopold, once a lawyer but now a sculptor.
O
scar's former partner has been arrested for murdering Big Jack, a sleazy business man. Sydney wants to help but is being nagged by a client who expects her to finish a job for which she has already received a healthy down payment. She is to rub out Big Jack! Oscar has no idea how Sydney earns the bulk of her income. But that does not keep him out of dicey situations.
T
his is a delightful book. R. F. Sharp, as well as being a lawyer for 34 years, is a professional sculptor. Those two backgrounds sure can give him fodder for his next books. That is good news.
