Hooray, Phryne Fisher is back with a brand new adventure. In Melbourne, Phryne lives large. She enjoys her life of luxury surrounded by her minions, but is at odds with the injustices in the world. She does more than rail at the unfairness of the lives of those less fortunate than she, especially those who must toil for unjust employers.

To her great dudgeon, she discovers that three young women are missing from a convent laundry business. Also a fresh young reporter disappears. As she delves into the mystery of the missing women, Phryne discovers more wrongs that she feels must be put right.

To my mind, Kerry Greenwood's Unnatural Habits is one of the most enjoyable of what is truly a most delightful series. In this episode, Phryne deals with a madam, a closet gay man who needs assistance, white slavery, incest, a priest with questionable practices, a jealous mother, and various other small crimes.

With all of this going on in her daily perambulations, Phryne still has time to be the perfect lady. She wears fabulous clothes made of the most fashionable materials; loves her long, hot, soaking baths as well as pacing herself in the nearby ocean; has taken a handsome Chinese lover; and drinks endless cups of tea from delicate china. What's not to love?
