ulia Lichtenstein is on her way to London, a trip she's dreamed about as long as she can remember. Her parents honeymooned there and she's known forever that she would one day visit. She has plans to see everything London has to offer. The school sponsored trip will also look good on her college transcript.
I
t should have been a great trip except that she's been assigned Jason Lippincott as trip buddy. The buddy system makes each partner responsible for the other. Jason is a risk taker, the class clown and wild partier who is always able to talk himself out of trouble. Julia has frequently found herself at the receiving end of his juvenile humor. She is a straight arrow nerd who has her entire trip planned in various guidebooks noted with colored post-its. Partnering with Jason could ruin her trip and her GPA.
J
ulia is right to be wary of Jason. His antics put her at risk on their very first night in London when they slip out of the hotel to go to a party. Julia hates parties and she doesn't drink, but there she is, drinking and being hit on by a hot British scholar. She reminds herself that she's only there to make sure Jason gets back to the hotel without being caught, but can't resist giving her new acquaintance her mobile number.
T
his is a fast paced screwball comedy that's fun to read. If you can brush off an ending that leaves a lot of questions unanswered, you'll find it a good story.
