o spittin' in public , no loose women and no liquor. The members of the Women's Temperance Society finally have Doubtful, Wyoming, just the way they want it.
T
hat's not to say everyone agrees with the new laws the righteous and forthright ladies have forced upon the community. There's an element of the population that feels their
rights
have been taken away and Sheriff Pickens is going to have to deal with these folks.
A
s the small town teeters on a major insurrection and all hell is about to break out, the Sheriff is caught between the warring parties and it seems any way he looks someone is upset with him. This would almost be a humorous situation except the National Guard is on the way because a group of angry malcontents are set on seceding from the Union and setting up the Shorthorn Republic. The straw that broke their back? New taxes have also been imposed on the local ranchers.
I
t will take Sheriff Pickens over 400 pages to sort out this mess, but you'll want to go along for the ride because it is definitely a
wild and woolly
one with plenty of six gun action.
