Jolene Parker lives in Wachobe, New York, a small but upscale tourist town located on the Western edge of the Finger Lakes region. She owns Asdale Auto Imports, a boutique car dealership that sells pre-owned but pristine sports cars. The story begins at the Vintage Grand Prix Festival at Watkins Glenn where Jolene and her family and friends are enjoying the sports cars on exhibit.

Although the day is rainy, no one seems to mind. Festival attendees from all over the world wander through a wide range of vintage sports cars, waiting for the first race. Jolene enjoys watching her adopted son Danny's excitement at his first visit to the Glenn. Danny's dad is a car buff, too, but he's made a career out of stealing them.

An accident occurs not far from where Jolene and Danny are watching the cars head uphill to begin the race. A Cobra runs down a spectator. For others the festival goes on, but not for Jolene and her friends. The accusation that Brennan Rowe (the lover of Jolene's friend and mechanic, Cory Kent) shoved the now-dead man into the path of the Cobra ends in an arrest.

Brennan insists that he is innocent. He refuses to see Cory, but that doesn't keep Jolene and Cory from investigating to find out why an unknown woman accused him. Jolene's husband Ray is a Wachobe police officer. It's not Ray's case since the incident took place at the Glenn, but he's not ready to have Jolene insert herself into the investigation of a fellow police officer.

This is the fourth book in the Broken Vows mystery series. It's a quick read with a good mystery. Jolene is a likable character with a love of cars that mystery readers will enjoy. I plan to go back and read the first three books in the series.
