carlett O'Brien is a romantic dreamer who is obsessed with movies. She can name all the actors, scenes and anything else about them. In fact she would like to prove to everyone that everyday life can be like the movies. Her father and her fiancé believe she needs some time away to get her head straight because she seems so unhappy at the moment. Her friend arranges for Scarlett to house sit for a month in Notting Hill, a movie setting of one of her favorite films.

carlett meets a new friend on the very first day and also bumps into a man in a book store. He turns out to be a very handsome neighbour who just rubs her the wrong way. But as she spends time in Notting Hill, her entire life seems to be turning into a movie script. A mystery from her past starts to unravel and this good looking neighbor is driving her around the bend. She is finding out that, yes, life can be like a movie, but the complications are proving to be too much for her.

his delightful comedy, written with a remarkable flair, had me laughing all the way through. The book tests your knowledge of movies and makes you say,

Hats off to Ali McNamara for a wonderful, romantic tale that will tickle your funny bone right until the end.
