Envision coming home early and finding your husband doing the nasty with some other woman - that's what happens to Jill Anthony. Only instead of freaking out, she quietly leaves town and finds herself heading to Sparkle, Colorado, the place where she spent a memorable childhood and where her good friend Lisa lives.

Lisa is surprised but happy to see Jill - it's been a while. Jill explains herself and ends up staying until she can find a place of her own. Even after all this time, they are still good friends and Lisa is determined to make sure Jill has some fun. Lisa has a few issues of her own, in particular staying committed to one man. She uses her body like it's the Holiday Inn and knows it has to stop. In fact she wants to find love, even if that love turns out to be her best friend, the man next door.

Cassie Jones is a ten year old girl who also lives in Sparkle. Cassie is dealing with the loss of her mother, who died from breast cancer way too early. She is always looking for signs, or messages from her deceased mother in the guise of small heart shaped stones that she and her mother used to collect. Cassie knows that her father is worried about her and loves her deeply, but is finding it hard to believe in anything any more. Cassie tries to do her best even if that means getting along with the new babysitter, Jill.

I loved How I Came To Sparkle Again right from the very start. This novel will take you on an emotional journey like no other. You will laugh, you will cry, you will be angry, and you will be simply content flipping the pages. Kaya McLaren intertwines three lives with passion and wisdom to give a must read to those who like the heart strings plucked and good old entertainment.
