n a very small rural area and a small community of Amish, Gabe King is on his

and certain things have inspired him. He is courting school teacher Emma Lapp, but she would like to keep it very quiet to set a good example to her students. This has been making Gabe very impatient as he would like everyone to know that Emma is his girl. Gabe also has a love of motorbikes, strictly forbidden by Amish rules. His not wanting to give this up has Emma wondering if Gabe can let it all go and give himself fully to the future they might have together.

onah King is also in love, but the woman he loves doesn't even realize he is alive. Annie Stoltzfus used to be in love with Jonah's older brother and was crushed when he married another. Annie is trying to play matchmaker between Jonah and her sister, which of course has Jonah all tied up in knots. Can he make her see that they are a great match and that God has chosen them to be together? Can he get over being self conscious and make her see the light? An opportunity has been created for him by his helping Annie's father on the farm and he has decided he is not giving up.
W
hat a wonderful, refreshing story about love in the Amish community. How simple and pure life can be, outside the rat race of city living. It gives us an insight into the hearts of two men and the women they love, their struggles and the faith of their heritage.
A Simple Autumn
is very well written, with such simplicity that it makes your heart ache for more.
