Two men are in a car, driving to a poverty stricken area, in search of somewhere to dump a bag. Mumbling that this is too much, they hide it in a trash heap. Boys, playing baseball nearby, discover a body inside. Mumbai has always been a city of polar opposites - wealthy and poor, corrupt and honest, and of course, workers and criminals. So when Inspector Vijay Gaikwad starts investigating, he is treated with some fear and distrust, due to widespread police corruption. Gaikwad cooperates with a reporter, Jay Ganesh, who needs to build his career back up - this story about the American businesswoman's murder could set him up for life. Liz Barton had a cheating husband and a slew of enemies with secrets of their own. She was also close to a billionaire industrialist. The pressure is on Gaikwad to solve the case. But with all the publicity that comes with a foreigner as victim, the police just want to find someone to blame and get it over with quickly. This is not Gaikwad's way. And as Jay, the reporter, gets in deeper he finds the game getting deadlier - his big story could take his life. I enjoyed the story, though at times I felt it could have used more action and less filler. Mumbai was well described, the characters were very well balanced, and when the questions were fired, you felt like part of the team. Murder In Mumbai is another good mystery.
