aya is a Psychiatric resident in a New York City Hospital and her career is about to take off. She has a great boyfriend, a family who absolutely adore her, and a life that seems ideal. But as we know life is not always perfect; in fact Maya is about to find out how imperfect it can be.

aya's father calls and tells her that her grandmother in India has passed away, and that while trying to settle the property a small disagreement took place. He tells Maya that the woman she has grown up with has cursed the family. Maya doesn't believe in curses, but after a few too many mishaps occur, she starts to wonder.

aya and her best friend Heidi have been invited to her cousin's wedding in India. So they both make the journey, and while they are there Maya decides she has to find a way to remove the curse and save her family. But in India, Maya ends up taking on a quest that ends up very personal. She is about to learn many lessons of life and love.
I
found this novel delightful and intriguing, and filled with humor throughout. It gives us a peek into a different culture and family values that inspire the reader. It is also very descriptive and a fairly easy read, totally enjoyable in all.
