Reform is moving very quickly across the Middle East. Everyone in the underground criminal syndicate wants a piece of the action. A chance to have money and power is a strong motivator for anyone who wants to dominate. Two men, the Syrian and Dyadya Gourdjiev, seem to hold the keys to all this power.

Dyadya is Annika's grandfather, a man dear to her heart. He has asked her and her boyfriend, Jack McClure, to help him get out of Russia and quickly. He is dying and there is a hit out on him. They want the empire that has taken him many years to build. Jack and Annika find themselves waging war against his enemies as they try to remove him from Russia.

Meanwhile Jack's surrogate daughter Alli Carson is waging her own war against a cyber stalker. She needs to get to the bottom of this fast because this unknown has details about her that she believed only she knew. Alli is very determined to find out the truth, even if it makes her relive her past once more.

As Jack and Alli fight their separate battles, help comes from the Secretary of Defense and some of D.C.'s top detectives. They are following a lead and it just so happens that all these threads are connected in some strange way. The trail ends up with one man, a man who was forgotten but whose evils are very much alive.

Wow, Eric Van Lustbader gives readers a calculated, cunning, unbelievable ride through a thriller like no other, keeping them right on the edge throughout. Father Night has it all - romance, violence, tons of action and just plain old intrigue.
