Imagine going to work as a lunch mom in Reesburgh, Pennsylvania, keeping a watch over your child because she is being bullied over a birthmark on her face. Then you catch one of the other children in the act. You decide to do something about it, following school policy. Unfortunately, said policy does not permit lunch moms to interfere.

That's what happens to Rose McKenna, except that the situation is complicated by an unseen explosion. All hell breaks loose at the small school at lunch time. Rose is faced with a decision (with only a few minutes to spare) that no mother should have to make - to save her daughter Melly or the girls she tried to reprimand. Within these few minutes Rose rushes into action, not thinking of her own safety, but with that decision her whole entire life is turned upside down. Life could not have ever been much worse as this tale unwinds.

Disturbing, gratifying, unbelievable are just a few words that can be used to depict what's within these pages. Save Me is a book that cannot be put down no matter how hard you try. It provokes a ton of thoughts about what humanity can be like and makes you want to discuss the book with others. I was in awe all the way through, especially with all the twist and turns. An excellent story.
