Rachel is a widow after the death of her husband Josef and is also very pregnant. She wanders into the barn because she hears whispers in her head and is startled by an old friend standing in the shadows. He tells her that she needs to come with him and that he can help her. Still grieving, Rachel goes with him, not realizing how much danger she is in. Hannah and Levi are very concerned by Rachel's disappearance. They call in an old acquaintance who has helped them in the past. Roc comes to their aid, since he specializes in killing vampires and Hannah believes that a vampire is involved in what has happened with Rachel. As Roc embarks on his journey to find Rachel, Arkiva the vampire (who spirited her away) has his own devious plans which include Rachel's unborn child. This is a story that follows a twisted path between good and evil, between revenge and faith. It sucks you in before you know what happened. It's very well written, and comes straight to the point with no fluff. This is the second book I have read by Leanna Ellis and I am most definitely a fan.
