A
s expected, this new novel is as delightful as the preceding ones. Precious Ramotswe and Grace Makutsi once again resolve problems and meet a very important man in their lives – Clovis Anderson, the author of their bible of private detection!
M
ma Makutsi and her husband, the owner of the finest furniture store in Gabarone, are in the process of having a house built. It seems as though everything is going on swimmingly ... but something is definitely off kilter.
A
mechanic at Speedy Motors (Ma Ramotswe's husband's business) has been arrested! He cannot be guilty of repairing stolen cars. The Director of the local orphans' farm has been discharged! What is happening in Gaborone? Life has suddenly turned upside down. Ra Clovis Anderson, Ma Ramotswe and Ma Makutsi do their best to bring right to wrong.
T
his is one of my favorite series. Smith takes a small village in Botswana and turns it into a hotbed of simple intrigue where the residents live their lives as they are meant to. Somehow, we, the readers, become a part of this village.
