ussell Mullins leaves the Secret Service when his wife dies of ovarian cancer. Starting over being his goal, he signs on with a private protection service and is assigned to guard Paul Luguire, a Federal Reserve executive and chief liaison with the U.S. Treasury.

ullins and Luguire become good friends, and when Mullins is told of the man's suicide, he can't accept it. A former Secret Service colleague, Amanda Church (a member of the Federal Reserve's cyber security unit) has uncovered a transaction by Luguire made only days before he died that looks suspicious to her.

hurch and Mullins team up, only to discover that the transaction was made in Mullins' name! Something ain't right here. A bulldog of a reporter helps them to reach an exciting conclusion. A mastermind has developed a plan to set off bombs simultaneously at twelve targets. But there is also a thirteenth target! Where? When? Who?
