atherine Bailey was always the life of a party, the good time girl. One who was in love with life and expected life to continue in the same vein. Why not? She was in control of her own actions.

hile partying in Lancaster, England, she met Lee Brightman and her life changed forever. Life with him was good until he became jealous and controlling. He was handsome, charming, and incredibly sexy, and Catherine didn't see his dark side until it was too late.

chronicles Catherine's life in both 2003 and 2007. 2003 was when she met and was attacked by Lee who claimed he loved her. And 2007 portrays her living a sheltered life in hiding, and suffering from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder – continually checking and rechecking all her portals to be sure she remains safe from him.

s her upstairs neighbor (a psychologist) befriends her, Catherine discovers that Lee has been released from prison, and life becomes even more harrowing for her.
T
his is a thriller in every sense of the word, with fully fleshed out characters and a plot that keeps readers on the edges of their chairs - with chairs about to tip over. It's a most captivating book by a first novelist.
