She's not interested in any of the men courting her, but her father plans to marry her off by adding the Falconwell land that he won in a game of cards to her dowry. Penelope worries that the scandal of her broken engagement might hurt her sisters' chances for love matches, and is unhappy that her father vows to marry her off to the first man who shows an interest in her. When her childhood friend, Tommy Alles, asks her to marry him she knows she should say yes but she doesn't.

en years before, Michael, Marquess of Bourne, was dropped by society when he lost everything he had in a game of cards to Tommy's father. He has long plotted revenge. He forces Penelope to marry him, in order to get his land back. He also has evidence that will not only ruin Tommy's father but Tommy as well. Penelope does not want Tommy to be ruined and asks Michael to give her a week. He can't seem to say no to her. Penelope has always had a crush on Michael. He can frustrate her to tears but he can also give her the adventure that she has always craved. She has heard how hard he has become in the past ten years and is not happy about his plan for revenge but is also seeing a softer side to him and falling in love all over again. Can they make this marriage a love match?

Rogue by Any Other Name
will not disappoint. Sarah MacLean has a knack of reeling readers in at the first chapter. Both leads are tortured by their history. Michael will stop at nothing to ensure that Penelope is not hurt and she wants to help him get over his past. He softens towards her when she explains she does not want her sisters to suffer from her broken engagement. Readers will delight in their banter and when they give in to each other in love.
