Unfortunately, he also returns to the bullying he was subjected to during the last term. On his return he meets another victim. Tom is a funny, but troubled young American who has abandoned his family in the States to live with his grandmother in England. Together they fight the rabble gang of bullies with a little help from Indigo's sisters. The Casson parents are both artists. Dad is a proper artist with a studio in London while Mummy uses a garden shed at the back of the garden as a workshop. It's been ages since Dad came down from London. Indigo's little sister Rose writes letters hoping he'll see how much they need him. He thinks the letters are hilarious, but, as usual, fails to understand that she's reaching out for help. Rose, the youngest child, and the only artist of the four children is beginning to see how unfair life can be. This is the second book in the Casson Family series, one of the best there are for middle grade children. Hilary McKay is a British writer who has written several outstanding series.
