So Damn Lucky is the third in Deborah Coonts' Lucky series. Lucky O'Toole is Head of Customer Relations of The Babylon, her father-owned mega resort on the Vegas Strip. She has things flowing according to Hoyle when a magician's act goes south as he disappears, apparently dead, during his performance.

Lucky follows leads to find him or his body with the help of her staff, regardless of dire warnings from those around her. As if that weren't enough, the Big Boss, her father, raises problems involving her whacky mother. It becomes a true case of using your time wisely. Yet, with all this, Lucky has time for romance.

The reader gets a real feel for the running of a big casino. The behind the scenes action fascinated me. This is BIG business.

All's well in the end, if you don't count a dead body or two. I did find the novel extremely entertaining but was confused toward the ending. Just too many people to keep track of. However, that was a minor problem. Coonts writes with her humor button pushed firmly on play. Fun book.
