Nicholas runs a private enquiry business and, of course, she likes to help. One night she decides to follow her husband. As it turns out, a very unlikely client of Brisbane's is Julia's brother, Lord Bellmont. Not wanting to be left out, Julia badgers Nicholas into letting her join in the case.

adame Seraphine is holding an evening seance at the exclusive Ghost Club, with Julia there in disguise. Once the seance is over she follows the Madame only to be pulled aside by her husband. Hidden, they both watch Madame Seraphine die. The mystery then starts to heat up with a tangle of dark deeds and much danger. To top it off their investigation ends up being covered in a newspaper which puts some tension in the marriage. But they must either join forces or watch Lord Bellmont fall.
T
