It starts as a night from hell. After she finally manages to get in, she is accosted by a drunk on the dance floor. As she struggles, a very handsome man comes to her rescue. Something is very familiar about him, a connection she can't quite put her finger on. This is the man she was to meet. He totally confuses her and scares her at the same time. Christien Chevalier is a Knight of the Templars who was charged with a very special task - to become immortal and protect a sacred treasure at all costs. For seven hundred years he has protected the world from evil. Christien has given up everything, even his one true love. In his night club it seems like destiny has thrown him another curve. Standing before him - or so he believes - is his love reincarnated. Finding out that she is his Madeline reborn, he will do everything in his power to protect her and avoid losing her again. Though I found the love story a bit slow, feeling that some of it was just filler, I found this book interesting, a little complicated, but good nevertheless. I really enjoyed the dual plot lines, present and past, and would recommend the story to others.
