K
atarina Bishop did not consider herself a thief. The teenager was more of a
return artist
or a
repossession specialist
. The statue she swiped in Rio and the painting she grabbed in Moscow were not residing with their rightful owners. Kat only made sure these art works were reunited with those individuals who had a legitimate claim on them.

caper, Kat and her crew are determined to get the famous Cleopatra Emerald back to where it really belongs. Unfortunately, there are three major obstacles that make this task a major and exceedingly difficult undertaking. First, the gem hasn't been seen in public for over three decades.
S
econd, since the fall of Egypt and the gem's first owner's suicide, no one who has possessed the precious stone has managed to hold on to it for very long. The third problem, and perhaps the most daunting, is the nasty rumor that the Cleopatra Emerald bears a curse. In other words, bad things happen to those who cross paths with this somewhat sinister gem.
U
ndaunted, Kat and her friends are about to launch a search that will take them to some pretty exotic places to find and repossess the emerald. She'll have to use every trick of her
trade
to accomplish this task and, as usual, Kat will make the rules up as she goes along to achieve her goal.
G
lamour and plenty of fast paced action are the hallmarks of this series that features one of the most beguiling teen action heroes in young adult literature. A one-of-a-kind heroine, Kat Bishop has captured the imaginations of a generation of young readers who can't seem to get enough of her exciting adventures.
