Recipes for Life by Linda Evans recounts her life as a celebrity. Must be nice. Don't get me wrong. Long working days. Forever learning lines. Always worried where the next role is coming from. Trying to hold it all together until the big one makes you a star.

As with every other method of supporting yourself, there should be time for the finer things of life. And I would say that Evans has had her share. Including men.

Evans started off very shy. Conquering that affliction wasn't easy. The photos in this book show her as a demure, extremely beautiful woman. Stunning, in fact. Her beauty stood her in good stead. She had a number of men sharing her life. When the spark died, she moved on.

Her role as Krystal Carrington in Dynasty solidified her standing as a celebrity and her private days rather paralleled her TV role. She has 'dined with queens and presidents, been romanced by the rich and famous'. Most of all, though, she treasures the wisdom she picked up on her journey through life.

Life as she sees it was not all fun and games – but she most certainly saw a lot of it. Her dear friends included the wives of some of the men by whom she was romanced!

I must say though that Evans' cooking expertise (which she shares here) captured my attention. Many lovely recipes prove that if she had chosen cooking as a profession, I'm sure she would have also been a celebrity in that field.
