During his career as an MI6 field officer, within five years, he recruited and ran agents, as well as conducting approximately seventy missions! Dunn's protagonist (Will Cochrane) has gone through all the training necessary to become a successful field agent. His driving ambition is to capture the man – the Iranian Megiddo - who killed his father. Spycatcher details these efforts. But now Will has even more of an incentive. He is told that Megiddo is planning a horrific attack that will resonate around the world. Will travels wherever is necessary to stop this evil man ... New York City, Washington, D.C., and the capitals of Europe. Will discovers that the man he seeks is not only brilliant but ruthless. Treachery is also high in the Iranian's repertoire. The plot is ingenious, the writing top rate and the characters more than believable in their circumstances. I did have some trouble suspending disbelief regarding a man taking three bullets to the stomach; another time one to the shoulder; another bullet wound to the head; being knocked out several times by blows to the head; his legs lacerated by glass; and still being able to get up on his feet to continue his quest. In one instance, he carries another man over his shoulder. Just a little too much for me to swallow, but exciting, nonetheless. Spycatcher is the author's debut novel. He obviously is using some of what he experienced to make this the thriller of the year.
