f life weren't complicated enough for B & B owner Judith McMonigle Flynn already, her husband Joe's most recent surveillance job just turned into a murder investigation and Joe is the one being investigated! After Joe was hired to keep an eye on a man thought to be guilty of insurance fraud, the wheelchair confined person was found shot with Joe's gun.

hile Judith worries about her husband's problem she also must deal with a good deed that went slightly awry. The owner of The Hillside Manor graciously donated an overnight stay at her B & B to the parish school's annual auction. Unfortunately, the winners have numerous allergies and other food peccadilloes, which means planning a meal for them will be a major challenge.
S
ome of the other quirks that make Judith's life so interesting include a horse showing up in her mother's garage and the problem posed by the local kids getting rather sick after consuming the weekly hamburger lunch at the school. Then there's Cousin Renie trying to force-feed her
Shrimp Dump
recipe to the committee putting together the church's cookbook.

re these things somehow all related? In one way or another, of course they are and that's what makes this latest installment of the
Bed and Breakfast
mystery series so much fun to read. With her usual sense of humor and insight to human nature, Mary Daheim has created another super mystery tale that, in this instance, revolves around insurance fraud and mystery meat gone bad!
