It could also put the House of Night and all its students at risk. Zoey and her cohorts faced adversity while banishing the fallen High Priestess Neferet and Kalona, but things have a way of turning around. The fledglings are still recovering from the battle. Zoey has taken an oath from sexy warrior Stark, not realizing what complications it will cause. Stark shares Zoey's emotions, almost telepathically, and he realizes there is something she is not saying. Zoey has been having some pretty nasty dreams involving Kalona. An aspect of Kalona's lover - A-ya, an ancient Cherokee maiden who was created to entice Kalona's body and soul - has reincarnated inside Zoey. She is having a hard time trying to separate herself from A-ya. In the meantime, her best friend Stevie Rae has been keeping a secret, a secret that could destroy them all. Even her super red vamp powers just might not be enough. The threatening forces that hide in the tunnels beneath the Tulsa depot are starting to spread out, and it looks like Stevie is losing control. Interesting book, with some crazy ass characters. A bit slow in the beginning but it soon picks up speed. I would definitely recommend that you start at the beginning of the series because once in a while I got lost, but I still got the gist of this episode and I am now thinking I will go back and read the rest.
