ighlander Sileas, a young lass, was like a shadow to Ian MacDonald when he was growing up. She always had a torch for him burning brighter than any star, and always believed that he would one day be her husband.
T
hat day came sooner than she expected when Ian's da found them in a compromising situation and forced them to wed. Even though Ian was saving her from the brutal hands of her stepfather at the time, he did the proper thing. But shortly after the wedding, Ian left for five years, and poor Sileas waited for him.
I
an was very surprised when he came home with his warrior friends. Not only did she grow up, Sileas turned into a beautiful woman, filled with spark and spunk and intelligence to boot. He also finds her more elusive, and less willing to fall for his charming ways. Now falling in love with her, Ian wants a second chance, and is not willing to take no for an answer. Fight for her he will.
W
hat a charming, loving tale, like growing up with the boy next door. The only difference is the setting is the wilds of Scotland in a time frame forgotten by most, which makes the romance much better. Who wouldn't want a Scottish highlander as a lover? I found it heartwarming and a great page turner.
