fter the ultimate betrayal by his blood-twin Fen, demon assassin Iskander won't allow himself to get close to anyone. Keeping his distance from his tenant, Paisley Nichols, is a given - she might be beautiful, but she's far too innocent to become involved with an immortal Fiend - until Rasmus Kessler razes her upstairs apartment. It doesn't take Iskander long to figure out why Paisley's been targeted; she has a special power that is precious to Fiends. And even more precious to power hungry mages who must feed on it to survive. Once Paisley swears allegiance to his Warlord Nikodemus, Iskander becomes her protector and soon, her lover. Now the assassin has a new purpose - to protect the woman he loves before Kessler and his minions destroy her.

his is the 4th instalment in Jewel's
Immortals
series and like its predecessors,
My Dangerous Pleasure
gives readers another nifty storyline that expands on the author's fiendishly intriguing mythology. Besides Iskander, there are plenty of dark Fiends to go round, who return to reprise their roles or are introduced in new ones. All of them work to keep their sworn Warlord, his territory, and first and foremost, Paisley, safe from the power hungry mages as well as help her try to understand her power and the magical world she's become part of. Paisley and Iskander's romance is also well done as the pair gradually and believably evolve from neighbours to lovers.
