Sage has been dealing with the nightmares and post traumatic stress for five years. She has found a home, friends, and is a successful artist in Eternity Springs, but won't let too many people close to her. Colt Rafferty shows up in town for a break from things he has seen on his job. He learns that Sage is unhappy that he has been putting his carvings in the local's summer festival. To top it off, his work beat one of her paintings one year. He had not set foot in Eternity Springs in years, but now he is back to make a sign for the healing center and spa while he relaxes. He has missed coming here for vacations. He doesn't bargain for Sage being a beautiful spitfire of a redhead though. He can't seem to stay away from her but she doesn't want much to do with him. When a medical emergency comes up, Sage has to deal with it but then gets sick. Colt wants to know what is going on but she won't talk. Colt has seen both her sensitive side and times she gets angry when she doesn't want to deal with what is bothering her. He can't seem to stay away from her. Luckily for him most small towns have meddling matchmakers who will help him out with Sage. Hummingbird Lake is the second in the Eternity Springs series and readers will not be disappointed. The characters both try to forget traumatic memories, but find a way to heal each other. The competition between two artists injects humor as well. Secondary characters who pop in from book one round out the story with their matchmaking and friendly get-togethers. Eternity Springs seems to be the place to be, and readers can look forward to Heartache Falls, third in the series.
