Michael's extra gift is his ability to harness the wind.

ichael and Cassandra's relationship quickly turns romantic. But once Michael discovers that she is his mate he steps back from their fiery affair. She soon learns why. Many of the Techs are becoming unstable, including Michael, and are slated for termination. Feeling betrayed by her father and desperate to save Michael, Cassandra tries to help him. But he's already abandoned her to join the other
renegades
who've escaped Area 51. Two years pass and the renegades have divided into factions. Will Michael stand for humanity and Cassandra - or side with Adam, who calls for the destruction of the human race.

The Legend of Michael
. The world building, the characters and the leads' romance held my interest, even though the
life bond
concept is getting redundant. The pacing is crisp and the plot rolls along, with a nice build up for a sequel. My only quibble: Michael and some of the super soldiers on both sides did a bit too much Alpha posturing, especially bad guy Adam and his minions, who came across as too Marvel comic bad guy for my liking.
