She helps her friend Serah open an antique chest, which turns out to be the Chest of the Damned. A very delicious looking, brooding demon named Rafe Deleon, who arrives to do damage control, finds himself drawn to Lucy. He should be able to resist, but is having a very hard time doing so. And Lucy is wondering why sparks fly every time they touch. The salon itself is turning into a chaotic playground for the underworld. Lucy's day just keeps getting worse, as she is plagued by nasty demons, bad clients, and general destruction. She finds out she has powers she can't imagine. An evil demon wants to claim her, but Rafe is determined to protect Lucy at all costs. Lucy would rather fight herself with swords, guns, maybe a bit of kung fu, or even the odd dagger. Sparks fly between Rafe and Lucy as their attraction builds, but will they admit it? What a funny book; the dialogue is great and filled with humor. I relate to some of it, being a stylist myself. Sidney has it dead on. It's a refreshing story, with quick wit and plenty of action. The characters are a hoot and you want to cheer them on. Can't wait for the next installment.
