Twilight

The Magnolia League
by Katie Crouch. Alexandria Lee is a teenager raised by her
herb-growing
mother on a communal farm in California. When her mother suddenly dies in a tragic accident (sinister or not?), Alex is forced to move in with her high-society grandmother in Savannah.
M
iss Lee, as her grandmother is known in Savannah, is a member of the
Magnolia League
, a society of debutantes. Alex, by way of being her granddaughter, becomes an unwilling member of the League. However, as she likes to keep her hair in dreadlocks and wear torn denim, the Magnolia League and Alex go together like oil and water.
T
he League seems innocent enough until Alex finds out that things are not what they seem. The members enjoy all they have ever wanted, but how do they get it? Will Alex stay true to herself, or succumb to her grandmother's (and the Magnolia League's wishes)? Was her mother's death really an accident?
T
here is not much story here, and Crouch leaves things very open-ended, presumably for the sequel(s). However, those who are still on the Stephenie Meyer kick will find
The Magnolia League
fairly entertaining.
