he author provides insights into how John F. Kennedy used the medium of television and the advances in color photography to further his ambitious agenda. The book traces JFK's life from his youth growing up in one of New England's most influential families through his military career in World War II and into the early days as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives.

f course the core of the volume revolves around JFK's days as the American president. In short two page chapters illustrated by full page photos, the reader will see how Kennedy was able to utilize the media and television in particular to advance the aims of his presidency.

his intimate portrait of JFK is not too detailed for a younger reader but it gives a good sense of the man as a brother, a father, an activist, and a president. It is the ideal
jumping off
point for doing more detailed research after getting an overview of this Kennedy's career.
