sobella Douglas and her twin sister Elizabeth travel to Scotland, home of their ancestors. Isobella is very touched when she sees the tomb of the Black Douglas. Standing in front of his portrait, the twins are thrown back in time to the sixteenth century. The ghost of Black Douglas claims that Isobella called him and leaves the twins standing in a field where a small skirmish is taking place. Separated from her sister, Isobella finds herself with a very dark handsome warrior, riding towards castle Marrach. Little does she know she will lose her heart to him and might face a choice of whether to stay or go back to her own time.

lysandir Mackinnon is a clan lord in the very dangerous, wild Scottish lands. He is strong and fair when it comes to his people. During a battle with another clan, all fighting stops and the warriors stare into the distance, where two strange women in very bizarre attire stand in the field. One maid is half naked. He rides off with her, thinking she must be an English spy and not to be trusted. He takes her to castle Marrach to find out where she is from and hear her story. He finds this stranger as beautiful as an angel and wishes to know her intimately. Something is happening to his cold heart - she might just warm it up.

his was a unique blend of history with a new age woman. Imagine being thrown into the sixteenth century, thrown into a warrior's arms - a bit scary, but a bit hot. It is fun to see how two strangers from different eras become friends and lovers, and the problems they must overcome together. And it is nice to see human strength when faced with difficulties. I really enjoyed this book - a great little love story with a twist.
