Together they have authored five fiction novels featuring the Body Farm as well as two nonfiction books on the same subject. In case you are not aware of the Body Farm, it is a wide area of land in Tennessee in which donated bodies have been buried – even hanged – to determine the different stages of decomposition. This research comes in handy when investigators are trying to decide how long a body has been buried – or hung. On to The Bone Yard. Angie St. Clair, a forensic analyst with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, approaches Dr. Bill Brockton's research facility at the University of Tennessee for help in proving her sister's death was murder, not a suicide as the husband claimed. While trying to help her, Dr. Brockton is presented with a skull a dog had dug up and dragged home. The trail to the rest of the body also leads to a horrible history of abuse, torture and sodomy. The story of a boys' reform school is repugnant to say the least. And Bill and Angie fight on to prove Angie's sister's death was not what it appeared to be. The Bone Yard offers a fascinating plot, with enough forensic detail to satisfy any mystery-loving fan.
