As a historian, she's drawn to it the moment she lays eyes on it. It feels familiar to her. But Christina doesn't understand why it was left to her in a will by a man she never met. Ian Douglas (a local) is her new neighbor. Their lands join one another, and he is also a handyman who helps take care of Traquair House. Ian is instantly attracted to Christina in more ways than one. Their families were connected in the past. So Ian has a fair amount of knowledge about the history of Traquair house, and he also knows its secrets. Christina is having visions of the past, seeing her ancestors. She experiences what they are doing in the most amazing way. Through these visions she stumbles upon an eight hundred year old curse that could destroy any future relationships. Christina is scared and wonders about her sanity. Ian wants to help her and ease her suffering, but there is nothing he can do. Will this curse bring them to a terrifying end? Is there any way to fulfill destiny and end the curse? Will love win out? Wow! What a book! Fantastic to say the least. A page turner full of surprises, and a great read overall. Jeanette Baker makes you feel like you are right in the room with Christina. You can visualize everything in detail. I have never read anything quite like this and highly recommend it to anyone who loves a bit of romance and a walk on the wild side of reality. Legacy is fascinating and spellbinding, imbued with the love of the Highlands, their history and lore.
