This handy book filled with reproducible projects on learning to safely handle life online was put together by the folks at i-SAFE, a nonprofit that is committed to Internet safety in education.

Designed for use with high school students (grades 9 – 12), the idea here is to assist teens in developing their Internet skills while remaining safe online. Actually, adults will find many parts of this book useful as well.

For example, the section that delves into understanding computer security, the benefits and drawbacks of online banking, tips for evaluating the accuracy of information found on Web sites, and suggestions for being a savvy Internet shopper will prove beneficial to readers of any age.

You'll find other material on protecting your online persona, safety tips for social networking, and suggestions for creating positive and safe online relationships.

Other sections, more appropriate for 11th and 12th graders, delve into where to locate information about colleges and universities, how to assess online education programs and how to apply for college, scholarships, loans and grants online.

The lessons and related activities featured here can be integrated into a teacher's lesson plans, administrated by parents home schooling their youngsters, or be followed by an individual who just wishes to learn more about these areas of computer, online use.
