This is a sequel to the author's first novel, Black Rain. Some of the characters are the same and the issue of an apocalyptic event prophesized for December 21, 2012 remains as well. To get the rest of the story, you really have to read this follow-up. But, if you didn't read the first novel, don't worry; this one stands on its own and you'll be filled in on all you need to know. Exotic settings and nonstop action guarantee that once you are a few chapters into this thriller you'll be hooked.
