Tourists flock to the small English seaside town of Blackpool, haunted by a history of smuggling. But outsiders are not always wanted by the generations of old families that reside there. Seventy years ago, a train derailment and robbery took place in this very town. Gold bullion and art were stolen, never to be recovered.

Molly and Michael Graham, a smart attractive couple, live in Blackpool. Molly is American and Michael British, and they are viewed as outsiders. Molly is in Public Relations, currently working on a documentary film about the train wreck and missing treasure. Michael is a video game designer, who also happens to be a good researcher.

Molly is hosting a party in an old Blackpool theater, to announce the documentary on the train wreck and robbery. Most of the town is gathered there, when a woman runs into the theater, yelling for help - 'There's been a murder!' The woman who was killed is connected to the train wreck in a mysterious way - is that why she was murdered? Is there a hidden agenda?

Molly and Michael find themselves embroiled in the investigation as amateur sleuths. They make an ideal couple, and are likeable leads. Stolen is an enjoyable and easy read, involving Anglophile murder and mayhem. I recommend it to anyone who likes a quick escape.
