ibrarian Maureen Davenport is thrilled that she's finally able to direct Avalon's annual holiday pageant and determined to make it glitter and shine. What she's not thrilled about is working with co-director and former child star Eddie Haven. He hates Christmas, but a court order demands he help out with the pageant or head to jail. It doesn't take long before they're arguing over every detail.
E
ddie soon finds that he's enjoying his sparring sessions with the prim and proper Miss Davenport. As for Maureen, she might secretly think Eddie epitomizes every movie star cliché in the book, but as a co-director, he requires a bit of direction. Will Eddie's free spirited whims ruin the annual Christmas Eve pageant or will the smooth talking former child star convince the sceptical librarian that the pageant doesn't need to be perfect?
W
iggs takes a variety of romance and Christmas clichés and puts her own spin on the proceedings. Maureen and Eddie's characterizations are nicely done, although both spend a tad too much time lost in their pasts rather than working on their budding relationship. As with all holiday themed love stories, however, there are happy endings all around - and even a generous sprinkling of angel dust.

makes for an enjoyable and leisurely read, one that will inspire you to whip up a nice big pot of hot cocoa and look out the window to see if the first flakes of the season have begun to fall.
