he cleverly designed cover of this newest novel by Mary Daheim will entice cozy fans to pick up
Loco Motive
, the latest in her
Bed-and-Breakfast
mystery series. Open the first page and you're in for a fun ride with delightful characters (and there are many of them). So be sure to keep track of the good guys as well as the villains - it's often hard to tell which is which.
W
ee Willie Weevil, a daring and fearless actor and stuntman, injures himself when he jumps off the roof of the Hillside Manor B&B. Afterwards Judith McMonigal Flynn escapes her B&B to travel with her cousin Renie to Boston on a cross-country train trip on the Empire Builder. Familiar people (like Wee Willie) keep popping up on this train and strange happenings occur (including a disappearance, murder and mayhem).
J
udith has had experience in the realm of crime solving and feels this time she must put her
little grey cells
to work. Renie and she have a great relationship. Insults as well as compliments are part of their makeups. So they work as a team to unveil a nefarious scheme to make a dead man appear alive.
Loco Motive
is fun and Daheim gets better, if that's possible, with each new book.
