t's been a decade since Macy O'James turned her back on her hometown of Sugarville Washington and headed for California. But when her cousin Janna is involved in a car crash and asks Macy to come home and take care of her, Macy can't refuse the woman she's always considered her sister. The moment she sets foot in town, however, the gossip start flying. Everyone assumes that Macy's only claim to fame as a California girl is starring in a few racy music videos. The fact that she struts around town in barely there clothing only solidifies those assumptions and Macy isn't about to shoot down their ridiculous notions.
G
abe Donovan might be new in town but he's heard plenty of gossip about Macy. The fact that her high school nemesis, who has her sights set on the new fire chief, never hesitates bad-mouthing Macy, only solidifies Gabe's decision to steer clear of both women. But when he finally meets the infamous Macy, Mr. Strait-As-An-Arrow realises he's in a whole lot of trouble.
A
ndersen tells an uncomplicated story here where the local bad girl - who's not really all that bad after all and who comes home to face her past - falls hard for Sugarville's
most eligible
bachelor despite her best efforts to stay away from him. There's plenty of prerequisite steam as Macy and Gabe work through their differences and misconceptions, both in and out of the bedroom. A secondary romance between a rock star and Gabe's ex, plus a firebug on the loose, adds additional spice to the story.
Burning Up
is a great read if you're a light romance fan - it will definitely heat up your chilly October evening!
