handler, Ohio is a small town where not much happens. Lately things have been changing and one has to wonder if the events are not all connected. On the advice of the high school counselor, Jim Lockhart, Lori Winston agrees to take her daughter to a psychologist. Maggie is fourteen years old, and has always been a straight A student. Lori has noticed changes in Maggie and she is concerned that her daughter is seeing a much older man. Dr. Kelly Chapman agrees to see Maggie and talk with her, hoping to gain her trust and find out what is going on in her life.

amantha Jones is the deputy of Ford County and a good friend to Kelly Chapman. Sam feels she is suffering from post traumatic stress disorder after working a case. A well respected businessman in town has just killed his wife, and then turned the gun on himself. All evidence points to drug use, and with two citizens dead, Sam is feeling overwhelmed. After talking with Kelly, Sam learns about young Maggie, and agrees to keep an eye out for her. Sam is concerned, as a student from the high school has been busted for selling drugs to another student. Where are the drugs coming from in this small town? Sam feels someone is operating a meth lab right under their noses.

yle Evans is Sam's ex-fiancé. He works the family farm but is having financial difficulties. Kyle and Sam have an on again, off again relationship, and Sam has had trust issues since she found out that Kyle was not being up front about things from his past. When Sam is called out to the Evans farm on business, she finds someone has been using it as a chemical dumping site. Knowing Kyle is in trouble with the farm, Sam fears he is making money illegally. Now it is up to Sam to find the drug dealers and bring them to justice.

is a fast paced thriller with many twists and turns. It looks at crime in a small town and the effect that it has on the citizens.
