Chas McPherson has his sheep and terminally ill father to care for. Of the two, the sheep are a lot easier to handle. Living in the small town of Sweetwater, Idaho, Chas realizes that it is going to be very difficult to find someone to help him care for his father. That's where Mattie Holden comes in. She accepts a job no one in her right mind would take.

The hard drinking woman not only takes on dealing with the elderly McPherson but she and Chas also fall in love. But when a senseless act of arson against the small town's only Muslim family disrupts Sweetwater and Chas becomes the prime suspect, the McPherson household is thrown into total disarray.

A compelling story about love, loss, family secrets and the way we are sometimes forced to redefine ourselves, Sweetwater Burning is a provocative read with a very memorable conclusion. If you want a little literary substance as well as solid characterization and plenty of action, you can't do much better than this captivating read.
