is beyond me. But I'm glad she did. It's captivating.

elilah Blue discovers that she was a child on a milk carton. Horrifying. At twenty, she has the cool head to question both her parents to find why they broke up, and why her father packed her up and moved to the other side of the country.

his book is character driven. And what wonderful characters! Delilah's father is on the threshold of Alzheimer's. Her flirty mother refuses to live by rules. The art teacher who hires her to pose nude for his art classes is rude and condescending. But does that make him a bad teacher?

here are several scenes with a coyote that shed a whole new light on that species and pinpoint Delilah's selflessness. Cohen's journey into the minds of her characters is revealing not only of their motivations but also shows Delilah's determination to have all the facts before she passes judgment on her parents. Her acceptance of her previously unknown half sister unmasks a big heart full of compassion.

he novel, written with flashbacks into certain events that tailored the characters' next moves, is very hard to put down, while an affinity for this young girl - who discovers truths about herself - grows as each page is turned.
The Truth about Delilah Blue
is a
must read
. Remember this author's name. We shall see more of her in the future. Happily so.
