Rick Bullock quit his job as an advertising executive to become director of a homeless shelter. When Zeus, a very gentle giant, is accused of murdering a popular evangelist, Rick is certain this man - who has spent time in his shelter - is innocent. Proving this becomes much more difficult than Rick ever imagined.

He calls in some markers and engages a well-placed friend to help. Along the journey to clear Zeus' name, Rick meets people who are a little the other side of different. Maybe more than a little. Colorful would be a good word for them. They certainly spark up Rick's life as well as the pages of this fun mystery.

Rick has to contend with a Jersey mobster, pro-life and pro-choice groups, as well as a billionaire who refuses to understand why he can't always have what he wants. Events heat up, with Rick's own life in danger.

Book of Nathan has a clever plot, cleverly written by a couple of new guys on the scene. Curt Weeden and Richard Marek have experience in the world of publishing, but this is their first novel in a collaboration. It's well worth reading.
